One of the central purposes of NACTA (North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture) is to recognize those individuals whose efforts represent the very best in agricultural higher education. The NACTA Teaching Award of Merit is an award that is selected by the college or university to recognize faculty and graduate students for outstanding teaching. This award is selected by a committee at the university or college and is the highest level of recognition a faculty member or graduate student can receive from the institution for excellence in teaching. Because these awards are selected by the institution and are presented by the institution, the recipients are not listed on the NACTA Teaching Awards website.
NACTA Teaching Award of Merit
recipients receive a certificate from NACTA that is presented by
their institution, usually at a local ceremony. The Teaching
Award of Merit award is not presented at the annual NACTA conference.
If you are the chair of your
institution's committee and would like to order the NACTA certificates,
or if you have questions about the NACTA Teaching Award of Merit, please
contact the NACTA Secretary/Treasurer:
